This beautiful wedding held at an estate in Montecito, an upscale town next to Santa Barbara, California, embodies what we all conjure up in our imaginations when we hear the words “Santa Barbara weddings.” Like the city, Santa Barbara weddings are both stylish and casual, timeless and yet modern.
The coastal beauty of Santa Barbara was the backdrop for this winter white wedding designed and coordinated by La Fete Weddings and Events in Santa Barbara at a private estate in the tony neighboring city of Montecito.
“We began with the venue,” Colette Lopez, founder of La Fete, said. “We knew we had found the right place when we walked onto the grounds of the spectacular Villa Sevillano. With magnificently manicured grounds and formal terraced gardens, this impressive six-bedroom Italian villa was the perfect place we could transform into the couple’s dream wedding.”
The wedding ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in the heart of Montecito. After the full Catholic mass the guests arrived at the Villa for a long and lingering cocktail hour, Big Easy style. The couple, both big food lovers, wanted to infuse the evening with their favorite food city, New Orleans. For the cocktail hour (or rather, hours) La Fete and team created a plush environment around the pool with charcoal grey lounge furniture groupings, tall communal dining tables and multiple bars and food stations.
Good Gracious! Events created a “Meat Lovers” station for the groom (pictured above) and a “New Orleans” food station for the bride, complete with frozen hurricanes and gumbo. Guests mingled and enjoyed the music of the New Orleans style Dixie band.
Following cocktails, guests were invited to the main tent, which immediately brought gasps of appreciation. The tent has been totally transformed by Revelry Event Design with elegant and extensive draping emanating from an central panel covered with flower petals.
The design was enhanced with Revelry’s stunning mirror and chandelier glass top tables, which were accented with their linen upholstered chairs. Eddie Zaratsian added a decadent mix of all white modern flowers in mirrored vessels along with a selection of rosebud-embellished votive candles.
The band from West Coast Music got everyone dancing and La Fete passed out LED sunglasses, necklaces, bracelets and other fun props to keep their party on the dance floor all night long.
